I know this is in the wrong section, I am in desperate need of help. I am on iOS8.1 Pangu on iPhone 5s.
2 days ago, a new update was out for both Cydown & Cydia Enable from the BYA repo, which I downloaded. I am assuming it was an update for iOS8.3 or bug fixes. I attempted to update, but then Cydia crashed in the middle of it. I tried to relaunch it but it continued to crash. I tried going to Safe Mode, reboots, but nothing seemed to fix this. So, I googled this issue and found this video:
I followed the tutorial, but this still didn't work. My Cydia still crashes, it looks like both Cydown & Cydia Enable are removed though. I don't know how to fix this, I don't want to lose any of my tweaks or sources. If someone can please help me, thank you!
Cydown (and other such tweaks) aren't yet compatible with Cydia - you have to bear in mind the new Cydia updates changes how the app works completely. It previously ran as root and now runs as mobile. Cydown patches the Cydia executable, and as such it probably sets the wrong permissions (or just the fact it's patching different code) and thus it will crash.

Well I didn't know that at the time I updated. I'm not even on 8.3-8.4 anyways, so I can reinstall the old version, just want to know for sure that it doesn't delete any tweaks or sources.

I believe there's a fix on Cydia, I'll see if I can grab the .deb file for you when I get home if you'd like? And you can install it over OpenSSH?
You must login or register to view this content. may also be of use to you.
Could you also link me to the official Cydia Enable download?
The fix didn't work, but I think it's cause I got rid of Cydia Enable. So if you can send me the link I'll retry it, if that doesn't work then I'll just have to downgrade Cydia.

Sure thing, give me 5 mins.
Hmm, Cydia Enable won't install on devices running Cydia 1.1.19.. I think you'll have to downgrade your Cydia..
I don't really care that's fine, but I just want to be sure that it won't get rid of any of my tweaks, sources, or preferences.
It shouldn't, as all Cydia is, is a graphical user interface for APT - it shouldn't delete anything, or forget anything, as that's all handled by APT, which is a core part of Linux and not Cydia itself (iOS is a "port" of OS X, which is based on the Linux kernel, in case you didn't know).
