I dont know exactly what jailbreaking does, I thought it just lets you get any app you want for free. Is this right? If so its not workin on my ipod touch. Please help me.

It does break easier hence some of the Jailbroken Apps use massiv System Resource or even change a whole Line of Values in the Systems Core to work properly, means your System will be stressed alot and too much of those Apps in the Background will kill it like there´s no Tomorrow

I had the Jailbreak myself and as soon as ou break the Mark where you download Apps that change System Values it will be alot slower

About 70% of those Apps are totaly childish Games or something to show off to your Friends and a normal Human being doesn´t have to make Friends due to some stupid Games on a Phone

To be honest i think jailbreaking your ipod is about Custimization

e.g theames, bosspaper, and helping app developers to get there app out if apple doesn't accept it.
I think apple should learn from this , and add things e.g more custimization and people wouldn't jailbreak

Well I jailbroke mine ages ago and it works perfectly fine. Nothing has gone wrong with it at all. I have downloaded plenty of apps and nothing has gone wrong. Perhaps your iPod had a faulty install whilst jailbreaking.

And as for the apps, what you think is childish, another person might find fun. You are probably one of those people that bums CoD too much for any other game to be decent. You can't play a games console on a bus or a train or anywhere outside. Thats what apps are designed for. Thats why the iPod has the apps. For when you are bored and have nothing better to do. And why would anyone show of a game to a friend? Thats makes you look cool.

As for the OP, my suggestion is to search Youtube for your problems. Thats how I jailbroke mine

if you want to get free apps you have to download installous from cydia... but you have to add this source to get it..
1. open up cydia
2. go to mange.
3.go to sources.
3.press edit.
4.press add.
5 type this in You must login or register to view this content.
6.And then go to search.
7.Noe type in installous.
8.Your free to download just about any app for free..

BEAWARE it takes awhile for insallous to load up and download.

remember that if your phone has some problems and you need to take it to apple/at&t all you need to do is connect it to your computer and restore the system. they will have no idea you jailbroke it

a jailbroken phone will work in itunes for manageing music and stuff
also if your going to download free games you need to add the sourse "cydia.hackulos.us" the answer to the question is "cavern"

jailbreak is not only for free games. i just did a trip across the state useing the garman gps and it was awsome and FREE
