As far as I know, yes. I've joined friends trolling with a fake name and have had multiple people join my lobby named "UnnamedPlayer" or a flashing name before (even tho I kick them haha). Perhaps its the tool your using?

no it is not. unless u have ur name default, then click join then then quickly change your name.

you will want to press the PSN Button and sign out but don't quit the game, once your at the main menu your going to want to spam the "change name" button on the tool and spam the "X" button while hovering over "play online" keep clicking those two buttons in-till you've signed in and you're now sitting in a party, as you will notice your name will be the name you changed it to.

if you freeze connecting to sever just signin through the xmb while spamming set name wait intill you see the store option then click plays online this is for the league rank glitch but i have allways use this for trolling with and fake name
