The only kind of menu that you could hide from theater mode is a menu that doesn't display any text. If you memorize the location of the commands you want to use and the buttons you must press to reach it, such a menu is possible to use and can be hidden from everything (including its user). The only real way for a menu to not show...is to set up button shortcuts for all the mods you want and have it so when they are activated there isn't any text on screen and go play hardcore.
