Are you implying that you're not able to regularly install the 1.18 Update? If that's what you're saying then if you head over to multiMan and press install updates, it will send all of the needed pkg's to your XMB so that you can install them. This will enable you to be able to play online just like regularly installing the update.

you could... just select the game in multiman and... update through the system
