Whenever you change your name, it's practically registering you as a different player in the server. So when Black Ops 2 is searching for your friends when they try to join you, or vise versa; it can't. This is because your name is changed. What I recommend doing from now on, is waiting until your friends join your lobby and then changing your name and whatnot so this will give them time to already be in your lobby before you start modifying the game. That should work because I do this all the time.
