Bans are a thing of the past for the most part. There are some things that you do in the game that can trigger an automatic ban, but for the most part, if you play everything smoothly and safely then you won't be banned.

First things first, EBOOT! Make sure that the EBOOT has Anti-Ban on it so that it disables Treyarch's banning system for the most part, and some EBOOTS have extra items such as UAV, Red Boxes, Wall Hack, etc. That's your choice. Once you have an Anti-Ban EBOOT implemented, you're set in stone. I've been playing without ban for months now, so you shouldn't have any troubles.
