Does this prevent people from using the in-game "report player" option against you? Or does it just decrease the chances of you getting banned while playing? Thanks for any advice

Decreases 99.99% percentage of get banned.

If "report player" gets you banned, then yes.
But it decreases chances of getting banned while playing.
