## Looking for Researchers — Black Ops 1 Matchmaking on PS3, PS4 and PS5
I am currently researching how **Black Ops 1 matchmaking, lobby communication and server authentication** work across different PlayStation generations.
I have already managed to connect to and join a lobby through an experimental setup, but the game crashes when the match begins. This suggests that the initial matchmaking or lobby handshake is working, while something later in the session such as network messages, game-state initialization, executable differences or asset loading is incompatible.
I am looking for people who are interested in helping investigate:
* Matchmaking and lobby protocols
* Server authentication and session handshakes
* Network packet structures
* Differences between PS3, PS4 and PS5 environments
* Crash logs and debugging
* Executable version information, hashes and module layouts
* Function offsets, imports and symbols obtained from legally owned copies
* Possible compatibility layers or translation methods
I am especially interested in hearing from anyone who has access to a **legally obtained PS5 version or executable environment related to Black Ops 1**, and who can provide technical information such as hashes, headers, module names, logs or reverse-engineering notes.
Please do not post or distribute copyrighted executable files publicly. Research data, metadata, crash reports and findings are more useful for building a legitimate technical understanding of the system.
This is an early research project, but I believe collaborative testing could help determine exactly where the compatibility failure occurs.
Send me a private message if you have relevant experience or would like to contribute.
