currently have 60mb atm but woman on phone said if i was on 30mb i would of been capped on speed about 3 times last month

im just thinking of dropping my internet speed as i dont need 60mb wasting money as i only play at weekends due to work commitments in the week

Well it is recommended that you have 2mb to play online. I have 8mb and I play fine and can stream 1080p without stopping. So just for gaming and stuff 30mb would be fine, more than enough. But how do you mean they can cap your speed, I'v never heard on a isp doing that.

its unlimited downloads not a monthly usage

but they have a fair usage disclaimer so they can cap your speed if u seem to be downloading alot

i think she was bullshiting as ive previously played on 20mb with no problems

I played on 3mb before for years but I was on unlimited, my guess is that she is saying that to get you to stay on the higher mb. I just looked into it and ps3 uses 20-25 mb per hour. You could play 40hours a day lol, for a month and only have downloaded 30gb. So you should ask if 30gb per month is enough to get capped. But you would have to play all day everyday. But if you watch videos, download demos you will reach this quicker.

only play an hour or so at night after work and few hours over weekend so my guess is i wont get no were near capped download
