I'm not sure, but in theory, if you buy it and change the password, wont the new one get emailed to the email address he set the account up to? Wouldn't he just take it back?

you can change the email on it but it might still show up

Just another reason not to do it. And if you were to change the email, I think it sends you a email to the original address to confirm.
