when i am split-screen kill boosting,
i leave my PS3 for a bit and then come back to find the screen is
black, the PS3 is still on (green light) but i cannot use the controller
to quit game etc, so i use the PS3 power button, also none of my
kill-streak / score count,
any information given i will +Rep.

Maybe the ps3 just froze... will probably not happen again just for 1 night leave your ps3 off to cool down completely that's what I did and I havn't turned my ps3 off since last week non stop KS'n.

cheers mate, right i got college today, will be gone from my house for about 11 hours, anyway i can set my KS to 99,999 so i dont run over jus incase the blackscreen does not appear?

well, if you want to. set the max lives to what killstreak you want then divide it by 3 since there is 3 diers in splitscreen so example:
30,000/3 = 10,000 max deaths until round is over.

It's just a error because the PS3 can't take everything that goes on so basically it just freezes
