Post: Paying respect to CoD4

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NGU, I've decided to make this thread based off of this one: You must login or register to view this content. to sort of start conversation and remember my favorite game, and quite possibly one of the best games of all time.

Like myself, many of you probably started off the cod series on this game. I picked it up for PS3 early in '08. This was the only game I actually went up 10 prestiges legit. And let me tell you, I was proud of myself for it.

It was a consistent game in a good way. A game where you could actually judge a persons skill level by their prestige. No such thing as hackers. about 5% of people knew about boosting, but had enough respect for the game not to do it. (unlike MW2, WaW and black ops)

My friends and I had a nightly routine on that game. We would get on, It would be me, my friend, and another from New York. (we always partied up together) and we'd play team tactical for a good couple of hours each night. We would always win every single game we played, and actually enjoyed playing in the process.

In about the 1,000 games we've played, we've only lost about 15. Not exaggerating in the slightest. That's how much I loved CoD4, because you can always go on expecting to do good, and you always did.

You can't get this same feeling with the new cod's though. Mw2 ruined that for us because of the 4 people in team tac, which threw us off because each time we'd try to play, you'd always get the one brain-dead ****ing retard as our extra teammate. Same thing with black ops. Nothing will ever compare to CoD4 in my mind, you couldn't trade the OG CoD4 days for anything.

Anyways, thank you all for reading if you did read all of this. Please share what you loved about CoD4 below.

OHH how I remeber the DAYS!! I reckon if they added theatre mode, game wining kill that would be the game everyone would be playing again! But it's sad that they just want money and so would never do that. /facepalm

I was a huge Hardcore Search fanatic on COD4. We'd get a team together and just go 4-0 game after game after game. I got my gold cross legit as well, which sucks now that everyone else has it. I remember rollin with clans such as uCRY, BYOB and qCwT and just taking over HSD. It'll never be the same

That's what happens when we release our codes xD

Anyway, cod4 was the first call of duty game that I was allowed to play online and it was the best. Also, some stuff that I noticed is the following:

1. The maps never got old

2. It wasn't overly complicated.

3. Nothing was over-powered.

4. No boosting

5. Not as many glitches, and they didn't patch them which let the game stay fun for everyone.

6. It seemed as though you played more than you really had. Even now, my total playing time on cod4 is like 2 days. On mw2 within the first 2 weeks I was already past that.

7. It's not as frustrating.

That's the problem now though. All the stuff they add just makes the game worse. If they added the final kill cam people would be camping and wait for that last kill so that they could be in the final kill cam. They just need to make it nice and simple again. Honestly all they need to do is make new maps and improve the graphics. They don't need to mess with anything else.

NEVER!

Yeah i agree with 402 the maps do never seem to get old has a certain feel to it, everything almost feels solid. lol

MW2 was ruined by

1. Riot shields
2. Death streaks
3. Customizable killstreaks
4. Commando

it goes on and on

now black ops totally different story, This game is rubbish because it is so far up MW2s ass it cant see beyond reality it thought by adding all the customizable add-ons they were improving the game but the more they added and tried to improve it they just ended up with some horrible monster. They have lost there true roots and i hope to god the next game in the COD series goes back to basics and finally just lets you play it for what it is:(

the stuff
League Champion
I remember this game being competitive and fun. When I first played MW2 I knew something was wrong, I felt like they just made the game cheaper and not as good as COD4. The maps on COD4 were flawless, except shit Creek.

Yes Call of duty and its simplicity made it what it was. I hope that with the next one they focus on making great maps and gameplay and not fill it up with useless crap.

Awww it sounds like the games eulogy. What I miss the most was playing 20 minute games of HQ on shipment and going 170-90 with a W1200 and a shit load of random frags. You could call in an airstrike and get 6 kills every time, those were the days
