(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I was having this problem with all patches i tried until just a few mins ago when i finally got one to work that had previously failed. I'm not sure exactly how or what i did differently but here is exactly what i did:

1. Deleted cod4 GAME data via game data utility on the XMB.

2. Went onto cod4 and installed official patch.

*3. After the patch installed and cod4 started up i went to multiplayer and online and waited for it to finish downloading game settings. Then quit game.

4. Using comgenie's awesome file manager i switched patches.

5. Went back onto cod4.

*6. In the multiplayer menu i waited ~8-10 seconds.

7. Started a private match and found it had finally worked, SCORE!
