I read COD MW 2 works on CFW 3.55 by just using Multiman and using the select + x option for external. I havent tried it yet however. I've also been reading that COD 4 (MW 1) black screens on all managers, but I havent heard anyone try to install it on external then do the select + x method, so you should try that. But I think it may get passed the black screen then hang when its loading.

I kept reading COD 4 MW doesn't work but I got it to work with external.

1. Copy it to external hd (I used multiman 1.15)
2. then highlight call of duty 4 then press select + x, itll exit to Xmb after prompts then (if rogero use Usb mount)
3. boot from blu-ray disc.

(PS Call of Duty 4 will disappear from multiman's list of games to fix this got to multimans ftp (or any file manager) select /dev_usb001 (if external HD is in first usb port) use should see PS3_GAME in the root directory move this folder to /dev_usb001/GAMES/BLUS30072-[Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare]

I've tested both MW 1 & 2 with select + X (or rogeros usb mount) and they both work
BTW im using Kmeaws CFW 3.55

Also andrew from my experience switching eboots are for people using 3.41 and other firmwares below 3.55. I've never had to swap eboots before. I thinks its because some newer games after 3.41 wont work because the eboot has some code in it that will only allow it to work with firmwares above 3.41 so they swap it with a eboot that changes the code to allow 3.41 to work. You shouldnt have to swap eboots until newer games that dont allow 3.55 to work cause its too old.

I had that same problem, I only had a usb, I'm sure you're not made of money but if you have a Target store nearby they have 1tb externals for $60 bucks really cheap. Thats what I did.

As far as games black screening on internal the only way to get them to work (mostly) is on an external same goes with modern warfare :(
