Post: Update Bypass via Disc-Swap
06-12-2009, 06:57 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hello. i found a way to bypass the update for any game via Resistance Fall of Man (i'll just call it RFoM)

here is the link to the forum which i found this information:
You must login or register to view this content.

it still works for me, but the problem is that when COD4 is loaded,
the gamesave with my hacks does not load.

Why will the gamesave not load after the disc is swapped?
Is it because RFoM loads it's own gamesave, so somehow the "gamesave temp memory" doesn't load the save of COD4?

And why did it work initially, and not anymore?
I keep thinking hard about how i did it the first few times successfully, whether im doing it the same now, and if anything has changed since it last worked correctly and nothing comes to mind.

Nice find. I'm pretty sure if you try a game like, Cod5 it will work.

i successfuly got COD5 working without the patch, but thats when i first noticed my gamesave not loading... if i wanted to play nazzi zombies online without the patch, I would first have to beat the game again.

After that, I tried COD4 w/o patch & w/hacks and it would not load that gamesave.
I wonder what the problem could be.

If any1 can help please do so.

Wow... The R:FOM exploit was patched waaaaay back with FW 1.80. This in no way will ever work. Same with the .TIFF exploit, and Motorstorm exploit.. All Patched.

if it was patched ages ago,
then why does is still work?

it works for me and i am running FW 2.76

the only problem is my console does not load the gamesave.
is this what the patch does?
screws with your gamesave after discswaping?

I will be happy to make a tutorial on this as soon as i diagnose the glitches.
It'd be great if someone helped me do that.

If you are saying it works, will you tell me how to do it step-by-step?

I didn't read the last part of your message, I seen it. How do I help you diagnose the glitches?

I completely forgot about this hack. I spent ages trying to get it working back on R:FoM. Lol anyway very nice idea. But i don't know if the disc swap would work due to the fact the ps3 still downloads the patch whether or not the game is in the disc drive.
