Post: Syntax Error
07-28-2011, 03:29 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am using buc-shotz COD4 and WAW Fast file editor. And there are always syntax errors. Even if I open up a un edited patch and save it and use it without editing anything I get a syntax error. Even patches I have used and haven't got a problem with, when I open them and save them with his program I get a syntax error. Is it something wrong with his program causing syntax errors? I haven't had one working patch after I save it with his program. What program do you use to edit patches? Or should I use?

I use this to make my patches and it works fine. All you have to do is check for syntax errors before you edit a patch and remember what you got and dont get anymore

I thought this too, but it works even though the size is too big. Karoolus's monster cod 4 patch is from Buc-shotz FF, and it works, even though it is larger than the file should be

My file isn't too big, I just get syntax errors all the time. Even If I put Karoolus's patch in it gives me syntax errors...and I have used his before and it worked fine. I am trying it again.

Hmm... I guess you could try deleting the program and its files, and redownloading? but I don't know how much that would help...

Just did, and I used a patch I know works when it hasn't been opened in the editor. Its karoolus's patch I get this error in like 3 or so of the .gscs without even editing ANYTHING...

Are you using the syntax checker? or is that just popping up? cuz syntax checkers barely ever work. have you tried putting one of those patches on your ps3 after not editing anything? even if the syntax checker says there's an error?

Okay so I put the unedited patch into the program...said syntax error. Then saved it without editing anything and I didn't get error on PS3 so it worked. So the syntax checker just doesn't work then. Even though I have gotten syntax error on my ps3 so I guess I made a mistake while editing. Thanks for the help!!
