For Guns, I would recommend using;

MP5 No Attachment, RDS or a Silencer.
P90 Silencer.
M16 Red Dot.
AK47 NO Attachment.
AK74-U NO Attachment.

ANY of These Are Very Useful For Ranking Up Fast In My Opinion.

Recommended Perks;

PERK TIER 1 [BLUE]

From 4 - 13 Use Spec' Grenade x3 Until Level 13
From Level 13 - 32 Use Bomb Squad, This Will Help Alot As Noob's Usually Put Claymore's Down.. ALOT.
32 - 55 Use Bandolier, This Will Help YOU ALOT With KillStreaks.

-- ALTERNATIVE --

4 - 13 The Same.
13 - 32 The Same.
32 - 41 Use Bandolier.
41 - 55 Use Frag x3, This Can Help ALOT, Especially In Search & Destroy Games.

PERK TIER 2 [RED]

All The Way Through Prestige-ing I Would Recommend Using Either;

Stopping Power; This Is Pretty Vital To Get Fast Kills.
Or
Juggernaut; Extra Health, Good For Maps Where The Majority Of The Players Snipe.

PERK TIER 3 [GREEN/YELLOW]

Steady Aim; A Super Perk For Drop Shotting Right The Way Through The Prestige's, Very Handy For Hip Firing.
Extreme Conditioning; One Of The Most Important Perks For Leveling, This Allows You To Sprint For a Longer Amount Of Time, Great For Rushing The Opponents Spawn.
Dead Silence; An Amazing & Most Important Perks For Search & Destroy, If You Have a Surround Sound Headset/Speaker System, This Really Does Pay Off For Sound Whoring.

What Game Type Should I Play To Rank Up Fast?

Well, It's Personal Preference Really, Basically, What Suit's You;

My Recommendations;

Team Deathmatch
Domination
Ground War
Headquarters
Or Search & Destroy.

All These Game Modes Are Very Decent XP.

Other Tips;

Play In a Party Maximum Size of 3, Any More Than This and Your XP Will Suffer, Meaning, You're XP Will Lower Because Your Chum's Will Probably End Up Stealing Your Kills.

ranking up is easy when i use the ak47, mp5 and the ak47 i don't really like the m16 i just cudnt get used to it on mw2 so i used the famas. then i got cod 4 and i still hated the m16

Yeah Haha! I Love The M16 On CoD4, But Only If I'm Host Or I'm On a 3/4 Bar Connection + On MW2 The Famas Is Like 5x Better Than The M16, TBH I Think They've Ruined The Rep' Of The M16 On MW2.
