It depends. Do you feel like ranking up again? I personally say that you should prestige. In my opinion if you just stay at level 55 then you will eventually get bored. Prestige was fun for me to do. And you might as well go for it and see how far up you can get before MW2 comes out.

Well since the game is old and MW 2 is coming out soon I wouldn't but if you play CoD4 very much still then I think you should but prestige in this game is nothing but for the icon and you get nothing else.

yes, i am 10th prestige 55 with all gold guns, and prestige added loads of gameplay hours, and now i am 'done' there is very little left to acheive

I had no fun going Prestige at all, sometimes I wish I'd just had stayed Lvl 55 no Prestige.
