yes you can, sorta..

either find someone who can transfer a patch to your ps3

OR

find a hacked .pkg with 1.40 update for COD4 (which has a modded patch_mp.ff inside), download the official update from PSN & use PS3 proxy to replace the original pkg with the hacked one Smile

2nd one wont work... dont forget the .pkg needs signing even done with proxy it was all tried along time ago when everyone was trying to figure hunters/theunkn0wns method. i know buc came close to modifying the pkg but there was something stopping him when modifying the patch_mp.ff because it has sha1 hashes and all sorts. (bucs stopped at 14%) <when trying to install.

first one is possible.
