False. If you don't have the latest patch, you won't be able to play with people who do have the patch. Here is essentially what you HAVE to do. I have had working hacks since they were patched in March or April. IW blocks the CVARs from working in the MP and CM files. You must block IW from blocking the CVARs. It's simple if you know computer networking like me.

CVAR are not blocked! Its a part of the whole games code. If they were blocked you wouldn't be able to edit the rules for games.
