Note: This is for PS3 only!

This isn't gonna mean a lot to most of you, but this is something for all the patch makers. This fastfile is custom-made, so I was able to put in as much stuff as I wanted.

This fastfile includes every single GSC in the game, all containing their original content (that's 124 GSC files, folks). These can be renamed and filled with mods or used for reference. All of them remain at their original size except for maps/mp/gametypes/_rank.gsc - that one has been expanded to hold 250,000 bytes of code.

I have also included 30 completely empty GSC's that are there specifically for putting your scripts in. Each one holds 250,000 bytes - that's enough room to fit 7,500,000 bytes of code. In all, this patch has enough space to put in well over 10,000,000 bytes of GSC scripts.

Another thing I decided to include is the button config for each and every possible button layout. This is useful for creating stealth binds or whatever else you want. Each button config file holds 5,000 bytes of code.

Lastly, I have included a big chunk of string files near the end of the fastfile. These can be edited in the zone, there are over 1,500 of them there and they can all be used to modify localized strings.

Oh, I also threw in the mp/cod4maps.arena file so that the map names show up properly in game. It also helps prevent some crashing errors that happen when it isn't there.

Be warned, you can NOT play on map packs using this fastfile.

I hope you all use this for making your patches, hopefully it will promote some new mods :y:

Enjoy everyone Smile

so, vader.. tell me how its pointless that people can put MORE modifications into a patch?
Hardly anyone writes any "new" mods as it is, let alone enough to fill something this big...

If I'm right, my patch has more "mods" than most in it and I could still overwrite spawnlogic if I needed more space, and my coding is pretty fucking messy and big..
Look at Elitemods patch, the coding is very neat and it's still got half the gsc's left to use..

I have an idea! Instead of data transfering every time you want to use a patch you can shoe horn every single cod4 patch out there into one mega multi patch. And when you start a match you will be prompted to select your favorite patch.

People won't be able to learn shit from a custom .ff without doing some research first, example some might not know what null bytes and pointers are etc. Might not know where they have to put the total file size of the .ff or even the .gsc. They might not know how to set up the asset table etc. Just by looking at the structure of the .zone in HxD won't do people trying to learn any good they'll need someone to explain it to them, e.g. 'The Basics' or how to set up the asset table and add .gsc's is a good place to start.
