Here i am going to list all the well-known Nextgenupdate bypass methods. If you have any *new* bypass methods, and its not on this list, P.M or comment on this thread. Now for the list/=

#1 Start cod4, & dont skip the cinematics, Press the PS button and sign in & out.

#2 Same as #1 but continues, sign in & out on cinematics, do this 3 times or so, then skip the cinematics, go to multiplayer & sign in & out in the xmb.

#3 Using Just Ps3 Proxy, there are tutorials on how to use ps3 proxy, just search it.

#4 Ps3 proxy with commview, yet again search it.

#5 Ps3 proxy with (packet injection) for more advanced work 100% but very difficult.

Bypass method #2

Step.1Make sure you have 40+ Friends.
Step.2Delete patch and gamesave.
Step.3Start Cod4 and cancel bypass with O.
Step.4Don't skip Intro instead sign in twice with XMB(Press PS Button and sign it through there.)
Step.5Skip the rest of the schenematics and go to Multiplayer
Step.6Now click play online and sign in once, it should say Activsion Matchmaking Error 33
Step.7Now continue signing in through XMB it should on take 2-8 times.

Bypass method #3

1.Delete Patch
2.Delete Gamesave
3.Load you hacked Gamesave (copy it 2 times)
4.Load COD4
5.Hit "O" when it asks to download the patch
6.hit your PS BUTTON
7.Sign in
8.As soon as you hit sign in hold your "X" button and hit the PS BUTTON once (1time)
9.Repeat steps 7 and 8 if need be

Things You Must Have:

Lets Get Started:

1. Delete The 1.4 Patch By Deleting Your Game Data Utility For Cod 4.

2. Firstly Copy Your Gamesave From Your PS3 And Then Add Any Codes Or Settings You May Want To Your GPAD0_CM And GPAD0_MP.

3. Now Once You Have Done The Above You Must Then Copy Your Gamesave Back Onto Your PS3.

4. Now Start Up COD 4 And Then At The IW Logo Begin Signing Out And In Through Your XMB About 6-8 Times. Note: Turn Auto Sign on off makes it much easier to bypass.

5. Now While In MP Sign In And Out Th XMB Once, Then Goto MP And Then Choose Play Online And Sign In Thru That Now Once You Have Done That You Should Be Able To Play Online No Problems.

6. If You Still Cant Manage To Play Online Then Sign In And Out Of XMB Once More And Then Try To Choose Play Online Again And Sign In And Then It Should Work.

7. If You Begin Getting The Parental Control Restrictions Then All You Have To Do Is Sign In And Out With XMB And Then sign In With play online.

2. Sign out and make sure Auto Sign in is OFF.
3. Start Cod 4.
4. Hit o on first patch.
5. During the intros sign in via XMB 2-10 times.
That should help a little i guess.

Bypass method #7

1- Get your Hacks from NGU or any other preffered sites..(IMPOSSIBLE)
2- Insert the USB device into the ps3.. then copy it onto your saved data utility
3- Delete The Call Of duty 4 Patch/update. Go onto game data utility and find the CoD4 one.. then delete it!
4- Make sure you have over 60 people online!
5- Turn your date and time to all 7's such as.. 7/7/2007 and then change the time to all 7's...07:07:07
6- The Bypass Part Grr! Lol
7- Load up cod4.. Then wait untill it asks you to Install the patch.. PRESS O!!! (cancel)
8- As quick as you can go onto the XMB and go onto sign in.. First take sign in automatically off!! Then sign in
9- Now keep repeating the process!!


Bypass Method #8:-------

1.start cod4(with hack),cancel patch
2.sign in (XMB) while it shows logos e.t.c.
3.sign in 1 time,second time sign in ,wait 3 seconds,then cancel....
4.Skip them,go to multiplayer and then it says"Reading HDD" quick sign into XMB
5.If it fails press "play online" and try 6 times!!!
6. if you have over 45+ friends it should work!
10- The longest this process could possibily take would be to get to the 2nd cinimatic video!!
11- God Bless NGU!!

Bypass Method #9

Step.1Make sure you have 40+ Friends.

OK "bypassing" can take as many as (1 to 50) try's or more .. so it aint easy .. its like No Scoping .. Somedays are great somedays arn't same applys to Bypassing ..



*When Bypassing .. make Sure You bypass in the Cinamatics .. if you dont .. quit game recopy and try again..

Q. why do this . thats stupid .
A.bypassing through xmb on multiplayer causes these problems

1.ERROR 33 "Unable to connect to activision matchmaking .. common and annoying
2.BINDS DISABLE .. example . only select works .. everything else has no effect and also you notice your binds arnt working when your clan tag dissapears when you click into a game ..
3.YOUR RANK DIDNT DOWNLOAD PROPERLY (SHOWS U AS A RANK 1) .. so when you click playlists you get "Download game settings"

SO like i said bypassing in cinamtics may take longer but it works out perfect in the long run ..

if your wondering how i know this .. iv bypassed like 200 times .. or more im not sure but i know the best ways and all the ways that work ..

-PrESS your PS3 button straight away a few times .. to bring uip xmb (ps menu) Faster click sign ..cancel update fast as possible ..
-make sure auto sign in is off ..
-try about 10-20 times ..
-if it dont work out do a connection test re-copy GAMESAVE and go again ..
-it should work now .. only ever takes me about 1 try-10 minutes to bypass .. usually its within 3 minutes ,
-And NO i dont have FAST CONNECTION and i used WIRELESS 95% of the time .so it dont matter if your wired OR wireless ..

Bypass method #14:

Start a random match in splitscreen, and turn on your Speed up hack, best result is "6.0" normal is "1.0", doing this changes your FPS, creating "LAG".
Play around for abit and leave the match with you Speed up hack still on, go back to multiplayer menu, you will notice that your game sound is playing fast and your highlight is glowing fast also.
This speeds up the game so you have greater chance getting in the online menu, now attempt to sign in, this normally works first try for some people.

Now if that doesnt work for you, try the slowmo hack, and back out and try to sign in.


#2b Another method, same as #1a but different, start a match in splitscreen, what your gonna try and do is lag your PS3, there is a glitch called "fireball" or "UFO" or something like that.
Its this white cloud which is floating in the air, normally when you walk into it you begin to lag..

copy usb flash to ps3, like normal
- go onto a computer nearest to you that has internet access
- get the current page onto Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
-go straight to the multiplayer menu, SKIP ALL MENUS AND ADS!
- Once on the multiplayer menu, go to the xmb menu get ready to sign in!
- click try speed test or begin, (it should show a gold star, click it to begin)
- now you have to sign in while the speed test is going!
- If it doesn't work within the first test, click try again on Speedtest.net - You must login or register to view this content. and continue speed testing and signing in!

Bypass method #16

Download all files You must login or register to view this content.
1) Install all file supplyed
2) Open "Proxy Server" on your PC
3) Enter your PC IP address in the box asking for IP address (Start>Run>cmd>ipconfig>ip address)
4) Now go to the PS3 internet conection setup. Select "Wired" or "Wireless", then custom. Keep all settings automatic apart from Proxy. Choose "Use Proxy Server" and for the "Address" put your PCs IP adress. Then finish/save and DONT test connection
5) Make sure you are signed out
6) Open "CommView" on your PC and click on the large "Start"-Button on "Proxy Server"
7) Go to your PS3. Game Data Utility>Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare>Triangle>"Delete"
Press the "Play"-Button on "CommView" and then Sign In on the PlayStation 3. Once signed in, press the "Stop"-Button on "CommView"
9) Start "Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare", skip all "New update is avalible" messages. Go to "Multiplayer" and get ready to go online. Go to "Play Online". but DONT sign in yet! Go into the next step
10) Press the "Play"-Button on "CommView". Now click on "Pakets". Then right click in the list of pakets. Choose "Send>All Pakets". Another screen will pop up, cheack the little circle next to continues and click "send"
11) Now atempt to sign in and bypass all the time. This will take a FEW attemps. Keep signing in over and over until you are online

3)If you don't have it already .NET framework version 1.1(download by clicking You must login or register to view this content.

6)Now open ps3proxy.zip(It should be in my documents by default)

7)Unzip all the files

Click on the Ps3proxyserverEX(Should be the third one from the left)

9)Now ps3.proxy server should be running

10)in the I.P. address box type "YOUR IP ADDRESS" (without the quotation marks)

11)Leave the port at 8080(Unless that port is being used by a program or other computer in your home)

12)Check The "ps3 mode" box

14)Click on the large start button

15)Now go to your ps3,go to modify your network connection settings, Use your normal configuration...But when you get to "proxy server" select "yes" and in the address box type YOUR IP ADDRESS

16)Leave the port box as it is!

17)You will be running behind a proxy server!

Please note that the ps3 proxy server blocks your system from recieving updates, so if you want to update your system you must leave the proxy server and then check for updates.

5.5. If You Still Cant Manage To Play Online Then Sign In And Out Of XMB Once More And Then Try To Choose Play Online Again And Sign In And Then It Should Work.

6. If You Begin Getting The Parental Control Restrictions Then All You Have To Do Is Sign In And Out With XMB And Then SIgn In With PLAY ONLINE.

Some Notes: When you are playing online and have bypassed the patch you will not be able to invite friends.

Also if you do quit the game your PS3 may freeze so please TURN off your console and then turn it back on otherwise your PS3 may have some hardware issues.

Anyway hopefully this helps anyone that cannot bypass the patch cause it has worked for me and WARDOGZ1919 so it should work for you fine.

Method 2.

1. Turn on your PS3 then goto Account management then choose AUTO SIGN IN OFF and then SIGN OUT.

2. Now after you sign out turn off your PS3 then turn it back on.

3. Now start up COD 4 (MAKE SURE YOUR NOT SIGNED IN) and then when it asks you to UPDATE press O and then press the PS button as fast as you can (IF YOU HAVE DOES THIS RIGHT YOU WILL SEE NO CINEAMATICS WHILE SIGNING IN AND OUT.)

4. Now sign in and out 3-7 times and you will be logged in quicker then normal.

5. Now goto MP and if all is well you should be able to play online ASAP!

Yes as i can see that. But as i said i took all the well-known bypass methods and put them into one thread. As you can see there are 21 methods in this thread. Many other threads only have about 5-6 methods, as i gave all.

1) Copy Saved data from USB to playstation3 delete patch.
2) Sign out, make sure auto sign in is off.
3) When the update pops up press circle.
4) Wait 10-20 seconds sign in.
5) When it says 'signed out', sign in quickly and keep pressing X and 'The PS button' alternately.
6) Keep trying until you get to the main menu.
7) If you fail, exit and start again.


This is the only one which works for me..Peace
