the real logical solution would be that you have to press the knife button to pull out the knife and then press it again to actually knife your target. But then I guess knifing would become useless and everyone would just shoot when close up but idk that's better than getting panic knifed by those faggots who turn the corner and grip their controller so damn hard that they press the knife button lol
