(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Studio Head at Treyarch details some of the improvements the team is making when it comes to Call of Duty: Black Ops II’s multiplayer matchmaking system.

“On the multiplayer front, I think one of the things we’re paying attention to is that there’s a lot of very experienced COD multiplayer gamers who are very good at Prestige-ing,” Lamia told Official PSM UK in a recent interview. He continued, “they want to play and compete with people, and to find and play with their friends more easily. We’re listening to that.” This is one of the points of feedback the team has been taking into consideration when it comes to matchmaking options in Black Ops II’s multiplayer.

“We also hear from people who aren’t as adept or as skilled in multiplayer that they’d like to be able to compete or have a way to play where it’s maybe not as difficult to compete at times – so if they have a chance to build up their skill sets then they’ll compete – so we’re actually working to satisfy a broader range of both.” It sounds like Treyarch will be focusing on giving those players of similar skill levels improved ways to play together – allowing vets to keep the competition up with each other, while giving newcomers a chance to improve their skills in a more suitable environment.

After all, Lamia mentions, “we also think the second most fun way to play COD, besides winning, is almost winning. We want to make more of those experiences, too, because those really close matches can be very satisfying as well.” On top of that, Treyarch also believes “that COD is incredibly fun to play with your friends or with somebody else online. And we think we can help people find and make that connection in the game through our matchmaking system – we want to help people do that.”

What do you guys think about this?

At least I can fight
Eh,

They need to bring back back Combat Training and Boot Camp. Nobody is equal on CoD but still, The matchmaking speed would be heavily impacted from the amount of players that are Below Average and Above Average. There are more average players than both of those numbers combined. Below Average outweighing the Above Average players. If this is going to work, There will need to be quartiles for players. Below Average, Average, and Above Average will have 3 quartiles, Low, Medium, and High. Below Average players in the High quartile can play with Average players in the Low quartile. Average players in the High quartile can play with Above Average players in the Low quartile.

If anything this will be better for youtube videos. Who the fuck wants to see more of somewhat good players shitting on HORRIBLE players and getting 100+ kills? I'd rather watch some intense domination games or close TDMs than complete shutouts.

If you can post 20 straight games and do great in all of them that speaks for itself. He has multiple series where he does this.
Essentially if your one of the top tier players on the game you should pull your YouTube worthy games still. They may not be as prevalent as now but it shouldn't slow much.
If a YouTube commentator needs to be in a lobby full of retards to post a decent game then maybe he should look into a new hobby.
Example Whiteboy ragequits constantly if you look up hiss W/l ratio it is beyond pitiful, he keeps doing that till he finds a group of baddies Xcal goes game by game and shows you what he does.

Xcal is the only reg gun user I am subbed to period. He was basically the first cod commentator and hes damn good at the game.

Im not up Xcals ass I just used him as a example because it was easy.

Yeah I have personally witnessed whiteboy ragequit twice
Most recently in MW3 where he was trying to use a pistol and the minute he saw our team was not full of idiots with one thumb he backed out. Within like 1 minute.

Sandy Ravage and Mark of J don't seem like they would rage a lot.

I mean you don't have to look for bum lobbies as most COD players aren't very good. In 20 games I could easily have a 3+ kd average and a third of them would be high kill games. Still need the ability to have good commentary.

XCal is cool. I liked Blame Truth but all he did was whine and moan about whatever kills him. He is good but complained to much.

It's not about suspense. It's about seeing 2 good teams go up against each other and seeing them use GB-like strategies to win. From what I've experienced and seen on CoD every party thinks they're the best at their game mode, and when you beat them at it because your party has more than just gun skill they come up with all sorts of excuses instead of learning from their loss.

I defeated!
Why don't they do a playlist for people that are new to the game and a competitive playlist for veterans of the game. However based on stats and data collected from all previous cods. Veteran players can't use the other playlist because there not playing with players with the same skill level so they would have to use the competitive playlist with other players the same skill level as them. They should make it optional, like the filter in Black Ops1 which let you choose to vs players in your country only or the world.
