Thank God for Twitter. Just read an article giving us the requirements for the specs necessary to play Black Ops II on PC. So here we go guys...
- OS: Win Vista SP2 or Win 7
- CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz
- Memory: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS
- GFX Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB
These are the minimum requirements.
So here's a little Q&A.
Can I use Windows XP?
No. The game has been upgraded to use DirectX11.
If I reach these minimum requirments, will I actually be able to play?
Yes. The boys at Treyarch have extensively tested the game on a vass variety of computers and are sure, that even on minimum specs the game will play properly.
What engine will be used in BOPsII?
The engine will be an upgraded version of the Black Ops I engine. (On consoles that's the idTech3, not sure about PCs) The engine will have enhanced performance, graphics, and anti-cheat system.
Will there be a framerate cap?
Not unless you want one. By default there isn't a cap.
More about the performance optimizations, graphic improvements, anti-cheat system upgrades, and all the other upgrades can be found
