This is a question I have been thinking about alot myself. The reason as to why I thought maybe people would be rest on Black Ops 2 upon scheduled street date is because when on the game, nothing is sticking to the leaderboards. This got me thinking, so I hopped onto Twitter to see if David Vonderhaar had anything to say about it, here's what he said:

So looks like nobody will be getting their rank/stats reset!

^ ^ ^ as above said. they never stats reset only if someone has managed to get the game weeks early and played it online, they will know and will punish them will resets and temp/perm bans if necessary

I have quite a few friends on my list who are highish levels on it, There probably gonna be like 3rd prestige by release day.. But im not complaining
