(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Over the past week a lot of people, including myself, on forums has expressed that they are constantly being matched up with ultra tryhards with high above average KDs and SPM. This is sometimes a great thing, close games are fun sometimes but at the same time nobody wants to go full try hard EVERY game just to manage to go positive. Although a lot of people have experienced this there has been no actual confirmation of the skill based matchmaking until today when David Vonderhaar replied to a tweet from youtube commentator BlameTruth who said "So Vahn, is there skill based matchmaking in the normal modes or no? I face good and bad teams, just wondering." Vonderhaar then replied: "The matchmaking system is only as good as who is available to play with at that point in time. Skill is one part of the measurement."

So there you have it, skill based matchmaking is a thing in public matches, not only in league-play. I'm not quite sure what I think about this yet but I think it will be pretty frustrating. The most fun thing in a COD for me is demolishing noobs and kids and rack up kill streaks, that feeling is amazing. If I want competition i should be able to go into leauge play but I don't want to try hard every single game in pubs. What do you think?

Be grateful that yours is only NEAR unplayable. Mine IS unplayable

So what you are saying is simply because YOU can't play the game I shouldn't be able to express what I feel about the game? Well that makes a lot of sense..

Honestly I think that tweet is a lil bit arrogant, I mean his job as community manager is to make sure take in what the community feels about the game, and if there is a lot of people expressing that they think this type of matchmaking is bad he should at least consider modifying it. I find it strange that he doesn't what to please the tryhards since their are the hardcore fans that buys the game every year, treyarchs primary goal should be to please them and I imagine that a skill based matchmaking system even in pubs is not something tryhards want.

He's not the community manager, he's a developer and a design director.

Cake is a lie
The term "tryhard" might be the saddest phrase in the COD universe. Just because someone is competitive and does well at a videogame series they've been playing since 2007 doesn't mean they're some negative word. They're probably just beating up on noobs like most of us do.

I still see plenty of splitscreeners and other noobs. I mean you get what you wish for.

Play in a party. A lot of good players I mean "no life tryhards" don't like to play equal competition so they'll leave after a couple games. This thread sort of proves that.

I dislike this system too i've noticed that there are quite a few prestiege level 2 and 3 verus me.And its extremly hard to get a higher score streak(A.G.R+) when your playing against people who have ghost perm unlocked and know the best spots and to top it off will go after you if you kill them(unlike the lower players)Also a person is only as strong as their team and if your team only has 1 higher prestiege vs 3-4 chances are no matter how skilled you are your going to loose. My win lose ratio is pretty low because the game puts me in 100% unwinable teams.

Skill based matchmaking does not over rule the ping element or other matchmaking elements it just on top. It a weak factor like gamerzone on xbl.

SPM/K.D/W.L are factors. Some people are reporting that SPM is the only factor other people are saying K.D also factors in or W.L. < I don't know.

Also from what I know that skill matchmaking is pairs you with people who have 50% higher or lower SPM wise and 15% for the rest. Based on what I seen so far.
SPM looks like the biggest factor right now based on a tests people have done.
It would explain alot and also quite happy with how I done so far.
FYI it only does it for the party host but if the host lives in US you're getting a USA game and bad players.

One thing is part of me thinks this tweet has been takend out of context but given the fact treyarch has lied before with matchmaking I think not.
This sort of ruins LP so why add it into the game ?
