This is sometimes a great thing, close games are fun sometimes but at the same time nobody wants to go full try hard EVERY game just to manage to go positive. Although a lot of people have experienced this there has been no actual confirmation of the skill based matchmaking until today when David Vonderhaar replied to a tweet from youtube commentator BlameTruth who said "So Vahn, is there skill based matchmaking in the normal modes or no? I face good and bad teams, just wondering." Vonderhaar then replied: "The matchmaking system is only as good as who is available to play with at that point in time. Skill is one part of the measurement."

So there you have it, skill based matchmaking is a thing in public matches, not only in league-play. I'm not quite sure what I think about this yet but I think it will be pretty frustrating. The most fun thing in a COD for me is demolishing noobs and kids and rack up kill streaks, that feeling is amazing. If I want competition i should be able to go into leauge play but I don't want to try hard every single game in pubs. What do you think?

wow, id never guess this, i always get put with an entire lobby of 6th or higher prestigers and then im the only one in the lobby thats prestige 0, sounds retarded and i dont know why this would happen if it was skill based, as this is just a temp account (due to server error) i just run around with a shotgun and make people rage so id expect to be set with shit people

I do not know the specifics of how the skill is measured but in some way this affects the matchmaking. I would guess that it is SPM which often correlates with KD but not necessarily. Another big problem with this is lag since the matchmaking is NOT fully based on connection which by the way they said it would be..

i just made a new account for testing this, ruined the k/d on it (0.51) and i always get into lobbies full of freaks. the skill based matchmaking is just for league play and only works on w/l base.

What do you mean? Do you get put into lobbies with bad or good players on your new low KD account? Cause I got put in dream lobbies on the new account every time, I went like 60-5 with the default class.

I really hope they get rid of this.

I don't care what the fucking matchmaking connection shit is, I can't even get on the fucking game! So quit yer moaning and be grateful you can actually play it!

Calm the fuck down, I just wanted to bring attention to the fact that this is actually in the game. Why should I be grateful for being able to play a game i paid 60 bucks for and still is near to unplayable due to lag.

I hate the way matchmaking works for me. I play mercenary (no parties) like 75% of the time and there are usually like 2-4 guys with pretty good KDs and the rest are average or bad. Well about 80% of the time, I'm always matched up with the non prestiges with -KDs who never play the objective. Every single game it's like I have 5+ caps in Dom with the rest of my team having 2 or less. I wish the teams would be a little more balanced or something. Or if there is a system in place, I wish it was just put away and make matchmaking totally random (or whatever they used in BO1).

You should be grateful because it's NEAR unplayable. Mine IS unplayable.
