(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I had trouble getting good scores on BO2, when I should win a gunfight I lost it.
I have an open NAT Type 2 and and Ethernet Cable into my PS3. I opened all the ports needed and i still couldn't win a normal gunfight. it may sound strange to do but if you are experiencing the same and nothing seems to work. give it a try

I am not responsible if anything happens to your PS3

Write down your email and password of your PSN account.
All your data will be removed from your system including downloaded games, patches, savedata etc.

Go to ''System Settings'' and select ''Restore PS3 Sytem''
It should say something about deactivation, don't know if it matters but i did deactivated my account.

Then you can chose between ''Full Format'' or a ''Quick Format''
I did a quick format because a long format takes about 7hours.( I will do a full format tonight)

When your PS3 is done it will reboot like the very first time your booted your PS3.

Done!

Note: when you can't play the game anymore because you get an error about the Trophy Registration, make a new account, delete the other one and sign in again.

Well not saying it won't work just saying it might not be that serious of a thing to do.

Couldn't you just open ports on your router or DMZ it? or just wait for the patch? I like the suggestion but formatting the PS3 is too long even with the 'quick format' option

I already opened all the ports needed but that didn't help, hotfixes didn't helped neihter did the patch. if you have the same problem i had and nothing seems to work try it.

It is the matchmaking Winky Winky
Make sure you ditch the wireless should help along with anything slowing down your network.

Sigh
COD runs on listen servers aka hosted on your PS3/Xbox (I used to think it was P2P but incorrect term)
That page is talking about the matchmaking servers (which don't host the game at all). Which when you log into COD checks your connection for your Location/Ping/Upload along with how stable you are and some other fun stuff.

Nat type does not change latency only changes who you can connect too. Open nat type = can connect to any client without issue. Nat type 2 sometimes has issues connecting to other players with a different nat type and issues with certain tasks e.g. Voice chat/Ingame invites etc

Right now the matchmaking is pairing me with people who should not be paired with the result is the wacko latency at times or lag :p. Nothing like MW3 which had some broken matchmaking still to this day.
Good example is the matchmaking on COD4 still pairs me with US players due to how the matchmaking is setup. IF you force host UK players, EU players appear and not many people play COD4 so why I'm playing with US players on a new game ? they need to tune the matchmaking Smile
One more thing to say is even with the perfect setup at home you still have to deal with the latency which is out of your control.

Hope that explains it , and I only know the basics.

My connection is fine now & i'm finally actually playing good. All i did was change my search preferences to 'best' & also my NAT was moderate so I did a internet connection test & it changed to open.. anyone else having problems should give this a try (Y)

Have you tried setting the search preferences to best? Could you provide us with a test from speedtest.net?!?

And one more thing... Well from my basic understanding DNS has nothing to do with lag maybe you should use Google's namebench to see if there are better DNS servers available for you. And then change those in your router. I recently have changed mine and I am getting better speedtest results on ps3. I am loading pages faster on the web and I have noticed a drop in ping. But again from my basic understanding DNS doesn't have anything to do with ping directly. So my lower ping may just be dumb luck or my ISP changed some shit recently.

The only real fix I can think of is just getting some horrible internet so you get the good end of lag comp. Of course it's probably easier just to wait until Treyarch does something about it (they won't).
