Have you had any bad experience with any of those? Which should I get and why?

Thanks in advance Smile

I want to be able to use it for music and gaming, but for gaming I really want to hear footsteps without problems.

Cake is a lie
I have the original Playstation headset and it's good for what it is. I haven't had Turtle Beach or Tritton or Astros but the footstep sounds are pretty bad on BO2 and even people I know with Astro A40s say how bad it is. Awareness on a map like Turbine or most of the map Yemen you can hear better but still not great. On Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 you can hear a lot better.

Well, it is really hard to hear footsteps in BO2. I have had Trittion ax720's since BO1 and it is just getting harder and harder to hear footsteps. But personally I wouldn't get a wireless headset. My friend has the PX5 and they die on him constantly. But if you are set on those two headsets, I would get the PX5. I just prefer Turtle Beach over the Sony one.

I had a PX21 and the earpiece fell off... do you think that would happen with those px5?

I just dont wanna lose 150$ buying a piece of crap that will only last 2 months or so...

Also I read that the wi-fi is having troubles with the headset (TB)

In Flames Much?
It pretty hard to hear footsteps in this game due to all the background noise no matter what headset you have.

I've used neither, but my friend has owned both and actually said he preferred the PlayStation one, said it had good sound quality and was quite sturdy. That being said Turtle Beaches do tend to break at a frequent level (I'm sure it's less when they're more expensive,) but my experiences and friends have made me never want to buy another Turtle Beach ever again. This all being said, don't expect to "sound-whore" in BO 2, because coming from someone who's been sound-whoring since COD 4, and VERY effectively, I find it almost impossible to actually hear footsteps efficiently.

I have a40s and it is kinda ridiculous to hear footsteps atm. Having awareness and the other team not using dead silence is still worse than Hearing footsteps on Mw3 w/o sitrep pro or its equivalent.

It is one thing that I find quite ironic, they start to sponsor headsets when they release the new game but they make headsets sort of useless at the same time.

I got a40s I can hear footsteps a lil with only sfx at max and everything else on about half, with super crunch, but can only hear when standing still without awareness,

If you can afford a bit more I'd get the Astros, a lot better than my old ax720 pros

That's exactly what I was saying to my mate the other day.

Personally I wouldn't buy any if the soul reason for buying one is to sound whore on BO2.
They're both equally the same tbh, it's all down to personal preference, however I'd go for the PX5's. Smile
