I am just recently third prestige.

1st - AN94. I chose this weapon since I had a honeymoon phase with it. Plus the two early SMGs are good but nice to have long range weaponry. It's pretty good for the AR class, looks like AK47, has good damage too. FAL semi auto version is my favorite Assault Rifle by far since I love single shot weapons but it's unlocked fairly early compared to AN94 at level 54 I believe.

2nd. Ghost. Easy decision since regardless of if you're playing noobs or good players you will face UAV all game long and it gets tiring always shooting them down. Be nice if Ghost kept you hidden as you shoot at UAVs.

3rd. Orbital VSAT. The overall best streak in the game. Also helps get Lodestar and even the lackluster VTOL Warship early into your prestige. Didn't want to have to wait til the 40s each prestige. And as some of you know once you get VSAT it is easy mode.

For my 4th I am not sure but I am thinking either C4 or Flak Jacket.

So what did you guys choose with each unlock and why? P.S. you LMG + target finder guys are my next topic. And if you're using SMG with target finder, go play in traffic

Update:

4th. Scavenger. Sucks trying to get higher streaks when you run out of ammo especially when going for gold on a certain gun.

5th. C4. Goes hand in hand with Scavenger and is get for rushing, throwing in buildings, on objectives and "panic" C4 throws. Love it.

6th. Skorpion Evo. So I can finish headshot and gold challenges for it then only Chicom to go.

Good ideas and reasons. I don't know if it's good or bad but there are easily 5-6 streaks I'll probably never use and 12+ guns I wouldn't lol so clearly after prestige 5 the unlocks are a toss up.

The streaks being at higher levels gives different options to use as you progress. VSAT, Escort Drone and Warthog combo is BEASTLY.

I'm thinking I'll do C4 then Flak Jacket then Scavenger then Escort Drone thrn K9 then M8A1 lol.

The first time I went through the prestiges:

1) Ghost - no explanation needed.

2) Awareness - a big mistake

3) AN-94 - I thought it was the best gun in the game at the time

4) Flak Jacket - a must-need perk.

But then I got reset to Prestige 2 Level 55 so I lost my last two unlocks. I just decided to prestige yesterday to 3 and I used that unlock on the Skorpion. So here's my projected future unlocks:

4) Flak Jacket

5) M8A1

And I'm planning on stopping at 5.

I agree with most in putting ghost 1st for sure, then for me it's a mix up. I would not worry about unlocking weapons until my 4-5th time prestiging being that your probably accustom to the lower lvl guns and do well with them. So for my 2ed unlock I would choose flak jacket. With betties still being highly used and people spawn chucking nades flak is an easy 2ed choice. 3ed for me would be lodestar or vsat. Maybe the lodestar 1st so you can get comfy getting that far into score streaks and then later piece them together for total domination.

I saw that you unlocked AN94 and Ghost when I hovered over the thread, thought if his 3rd is Orbital VSAT...
and it was I chose the exact same three, I've been recently using higher killstreaks, such as VSAT, Escort Drone and VTOL/Swarm and it works a treat.
I even managed to get a 42-2 on Cargo Kill Confirmed :O

People do lob grenades and hope. Also don't waste unlock on Lodestar. You unlock it level 12. VSAT would be best streak unlock then either Swarm or K9 since they are so high up assuming you can obtain them.

VSAT is perfect unlock choice and by level 12 you can run something like Lightning Strike, VSAT and Lodestar. Or VSAT, Lodestar, VTOL Warship which isn't as good as Lodestar but it's good and if you get Lodestar without dying you will get Warship.

I sort of want to unlock C4 before anything else since I LOVE them. I use C4 on SMG classes and Betty on AR classes.

I figured I'd explain why I chose my permanent unlocks.

1st) Ghost. Pretty self explanatory. The UAV spam was ridiculous and luckily, I had the game on Saturday before release, so I was able to get close to 55 before the actual launch, so I had ghost when everyone else was spamming the UAV's. It makes such a huge difference when you run ghost.

2nd) MSMC. Best gun in the game for me. I used it before it was known to be 'over-powered' as I had the game early and I've been using it ever since. It's the gun that I'm most accustomed too and it's similar to the AK-74u from Black Ops 1, which was the only gun I ever used.

3rd) Scavenger. Again, self explanatory. I hated running out of ammo and I loved the fact I could keep using my equipment/grenades over and over. Must have perk!

4th) Orbital VSAT. It's like Porter said, it's the best overall scorestreak in the game. It's just great, there's no other way to say it, so I decided to unlock it after I got my class ready beforehand.

5th) Swarm. You only ever get to use this for like 2 ranks if you prestige and if you level up as fast as I do, it's a very short time. Every time I equipped Swarm, I got it. So I wanted to unlock it and I can say it was a great choice. It's an epic streak, except most people back out when you call it out

6th) K9 Unit. Similar to the Swam, while not as good. I like using K8 with Swarm because you can still Run&Gun and don't have to sit there controlling a scorestreak, which I find to be very boring. However, I've found that the Swarm often dwarfs the K9 unit, so it's best to call them out separate sometimes.

7th) I'm currently rank 50 f 6th prestige, so once I do prestige, I'll be unlocking the C4 simply because it's so useful in many situations. To those who use it, you'll understand and i you don't use it, you need to start!
