Post: My Opinion On Activision's/Treyarch's Money Whoring

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Yeah, so this video entails what I think about the recent "microtransactions" added on Black Ops 2 for Xbox 360 users. Personally, I think instead of making them cost small amounts of money, it would've been smarter if Activision/Treyarch just made the DLCs free as an incentive to draw in more people who didn't already have the game. Just my opinion. Let me know what you guys think? I hope you enjoy the gameplay too. It was my first time trying the LSAT and I managed to get a double swarm 65-1! Pretty sweet if you ask me. Thanks for your time, NGU peeps!

Naw, i'm completely fine with this move. First, it's not like they're taking old features that were previously free and making them cost money (for example, making zombies a payable DLC). They're introducing new stuff that weren't promised with the release of the game for people who want it. There were no additional camos or reticle sights or extra class slots in previous titles, and I personally don't believe its unfair for a company to charge money for exclusive content, especially when said content does not put players at a noticeable disadvantage for those who did not purchase it.

I'm sorry but free DLC camo would not entice new people to buy the game :ha!:

The business of business, is business.

They are making money from this, its a clever move, it may seem like money whoring, but you don't have to buy them, its just a small extra for the fans if they want it.

The following 2 users say thank you to Wondoh for this useful post:

Very true. Makes me second guess what I said. Haha. Smile

That's very fair, and I respect your opinion. I understand that they need to make money regardless of what the community may or may not want.

Well I think this is a case where everyone has a point. It IS without a shadow of a doubt money whoring. However, it's also something optional for people who want to ad to the experience.

So it is definitely a business move, one that is actually pretty smart because I'm sure they developed those extras months ago, made them reasonable and made it so even Season Pass holders have to purchase them. Still is money whoring.

Think about a legit real "whore." They do something for money that's normally free. Easy money for them and completely optional for you to buy. I personally would rather see better microtransactions and think it's sort of sad they're doing it. No reason to be outraged and go back to the "add dedicated servers," wheelhouse though. Just laugh, say smh and don't buy the bs unless you really want them.

I wish they'd focus more on fixing issues in the games they produce rather than constantly spewing out bs DLC. :/ Good points though.

One thing I have to say is, I didn't buy the season pass, but I think it is kinda cheap not to include it in the pass. I mean they are pretty cheap to buy, just goes to show they probably plan on adding a lot more micro transaction.

Eh doesn't really matter nothing sold is game changing. Besides do you really want to get 100 custom classes? lol Other than that a camo or calling card is cool but eh I personally prolly won't buy them $2 for another lame cammo no thx!

Congrats on the scoreline, good video it also nice to see a couple lines not just the video :y:
I don't think it money whoring more they want to try and get as much money off people as they can. And it works as people buy it, would not do it without having a demand for it.
Don't have a problem with it but do have a problem with the overall game being so much on the DLC on top, now with this. That said it must work as people keep buying it. For call of duty to keep being a success I feel it needs to lower it starting price along with DLC to keep us buying in the longer run. Could be wrong but it would increase the sales numbers more compared to free DLC.

Yea like I said it IS money whoring and it IS smart business. The biggest reason it comes off as greedy is look at what they are offering. If they charged us $4-$5 for a bonus map, weapon, custom titles or something like that it wouldn't be frowned upon as much. Charging a few bucks for camos, titles and a stupid amount of custom classes that probably were developed same time the game was is egregious.

IF we are going to pay for extra DLC it needs to be maps or something more useful.
