To do this you have to sneak around the EDGES of the map avoiding the main battlefield in the centre and coming round the back and picking off the campers in the nests and those busy taking on your teammates, this way they won't see you coming and you can easily pick them off and get easy 3-5 headshots every time

Good Game Modes to Try this on are mainly Objective modes where the spawn system will help you out a bit
Game Modes That Help benefit this Technique :

DEMOLITION ( JUST DONT PUSH TOO FAR INTO THEIR SPAWN )
CAPTURE THE FLAG ( Hang Around Enemy Flag They will usually run past their flag ensuring no one is in range)
HEADQUARTERS (Catch Them off Guard Defending out of the windows or sitting in corners)
SEARCH AND DESTROY (Good Game Mode For Headshots But Due To 1 Life Per Round - Not So Recommended)

You must be talking about Domination or another mode. Because on Kill Confirm people overplay the objective ie stealing tags...The people on Black Ops 2 avoid the objectives generally because they suck ass or are too busy trying to do challenges, quick scoping, trying to be Onlyusemeblade or other stupid shit. I'd say for every 1 guy avoiding objectives because he is trying to maintain a kdr there are easily 6-7 guys too terrible or too involved in dying to be bothered to help. It's why I don't play solo. There are far more idiots than so called "killwhores" in this game

over play the objective? that's a new one I've heard....

Well usually it's applies to the guys in Demo who don't spawn trap and try to win asap.

But in the case of Black Ops 2 I am referring to Kill Confirmed tag jacking. Working hard getting a triple kill and then seeing your teammate dash to those tags as fast as he can is annoying as hell. Even worse is when a quick scoper or knife only guy steals your tags because you could be a few score off VSAT or something and he will just die in 2 seconds or is using your tags to get his Hunter Killer easier.

Although maybe overplaying the objective would apply more to the guys in MW3 who would be hellbent on collecting tags even while up 40+ points. Those guys were sort of annoying as well.
