Thank you for pointing out that hole in the game too. That was one of my etc's because I didn't feel like listing the hundreds upon hundreds of thing Black Ops has left a lot of us dissapointed with.

Oh and "who cares about graphics"? I'm not even gonna respond to that.

1.) The footsteps are like little mud clops, not even ray charles could hear you coming, even when your headphones are so loud that your ears start to bleed.

2.) Underpowered weapons; four shots from an m16? Give me a break. There's a reason why i don't play halo.

3.) Tac insertions. REALLY, treyarch? I thought you learned from MW2's mistakes.

4.) Every server i've played in has serious lag, regardless of the host. 2 bars in every room is just not acceptable.

5.) WHAT IS THE POINT OF NINJA WHEN FOOTSTEPS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO HEAR ANYWAY?

6.) That is all. I feel much better. Im going to play more BO now.

1)They Promise No Commando and then most knife kills people fly at you randomly from like 5 metres away..

There's also a reason we all hate MW2(actually multiple reasons, but OP weapons were the main one).

When used correctly they add a new tactical element to the game, the core idea IW came up with was good.
Also boosters are getting banned now, so TIs are hardly exploitable anymore.

There were 4 million people on the servers at one point(just for XBOX, assuming numbers were similar for PS3) so you can't expect the servers to be perfect.

Few things that bother me about that. 1.) When you take away footsteps, its actually making the game less realistic. I should expect that footsteps should at least be as audible as they sound in real life, or comparatively. But in BO its not even close. The sounds of the texture of ground your on don't even match the appearance of the kind of ground your walking on either; so tacky and cliche for a modern video game. Its like taking away one of our most keen and sensitive senses that we use in real life to detect motion and depth perception, too.

2.) Its not sound whoring so much as it is utilizing the sound that should be provided in real life. And the sound IS always there in the game; so you shouldn't rage at other people for the mere fact that you can't hear it. You can get the same effect from a decent home surround sound system, but not all of us student gamers have $3000 dollars (or pounds in your case) to spend, especially when there is barely enough money in this rental cot to buy some noodles. Choke the 100 bucks and its a worthy investment. And I guarantee you won't be raging once you get one.

3.) Cod4 had the same hit counters as MW2. Overpowered? Well, yes, if you are comparing it to Halo. I, for one, migrated to COD because of the hit markers. If you liked the hit counters in COD4, there wasn't really much to dislike about MW2 except the new spawn algorithm, which wasn't well thought out, and the maps were over-complex. Even through all that, I still found it easy to look over those problems and enjoy what really matters in the game; the formatic shooter part of it.

4.) There have not been, and never will be, 4 million people playing at once. There is a difference between having 4 million players "online" and 4 million people "in-game". You are only using the COD severs when you are IN a server, but having the game booted or just sitting in a lobby does not clog the servers.

I don't dislike the game as a whole, but there are certain things that just irk me. They should be improving the chain, especially when COD has so much high stakes and expectations, but so far BO feels in many ways like a step backwards

I hate the realism argument, mainly because the argument itself is invalid and people only put the argument forward for things they're in favor of.
If CoD is based around realism, why are there perks and killstreaks?

This argument annoys me too. Just because one has more money they should not gain any sort of advantage.

This is coming from someone who has enough money in his paypal to order some AX720s but has been holding off because of the sound in Black Ops.

I agree with you

The more I play the more I like this game. The graphics are not all that bad too me, the guns are good and they all have there ups and downs. Once they get the servers running well it will be a great game and I dont ever plan on going back to MW2....

TBH, if you classify yourself as a COD fan, then other than Treyarch's fail attempts at providing after-sales community updates and support, and the server and framerate issues, the game is near enough perfect
Its the perfect compromise between COD4 and W@W, imo, the most perfect parts of COD4 added to W@W, with all of W@W's bad points taken out or tuned up.
They've created nothing less than a BRILLIANT GAME
Its just getting used to it that everyone's bitching about
