Just wondering what you guys think of the crossbow that has been shown to us through the many BlackOps trailers that have been released. After just watching some stick and stones gameplay (which can be found under the "Gaming News" forum) I've decided that it looks like it could be a bit overpowered.

First: It is more accurate than I originally thought it was (however the balistic knife is not)

Also, the explosion seems pretty large, and many times kills the oppenent without actually sticking to him.

Finally, your are given a fair amount of ammo to start with, and if you have a perk like scavenger, it seems you could pick up more. (though they have announced that "scavenger" will not resupply your most expensive attachement)

Just wondering what you guys think? Will it be a slight annoyance or the next MW2 noob tube?

I guess we will see.

I just wanna know how fast it will travel. I don't want to get used to where to aim two NEW things, the crossbow and ballistic knife. Will it go faster than the throwing knife or what?

To Answer your question:

The Ballistic Knife: Will travel faster and in a more straight line than the throwing knife. Close range-medium range it will have little drop. As to long range we haven't quite seen a long range shot, but I predict that it will drop slightly, but not in an arc such as the throwing knife did.

Crossbow: Seems to travel slightly slower than the throwing knife, but still has little drop. Close range it seems pretty accurate and medium range seems to cause some drop. Once again it does not arc like a throwing knife would. Long range I would expect to see much more drop and perhaps some arc.

I think the crossbow itself [Without Explosive Tip Arrows] will be more of a skill based weapon.

As for the accuracy, I read somewhere [Pretty sure from the COD Wiki], the crossbow doesn't fire projectiles. It fires hit-scans. This means they fire completely straight and are "infinitely thin". This basically means it doesn't lob like a trowing knife, but acts more like a one-shot-kill sniper bullet.
