Yes it seems we have a new game mode...maybe. According to the leaked achievements
There's articles on the internet about it, here is one of many that hosts an idea of the possibile background to dead ops

The next big Call of Duty game has just had much of its single-player game spoiled, thanks to an early look at the shooter's list of achievements and trophies. What do Black Ops' achievements tell us about Treyarch's war game?
(Perhaps too much. Stop reading now if you would prefer to keep Black Ops' locations, plot points and still unannounced modes a secret. Josh Olin, community manager at developer Treyarch, implies that the "leaked" achievement list is authentic on Twitter.)
We already knew about Call of Duty: Black Ops' zombie mode, so that's not a surprise. But Dead Ops Arcade? That's listed separately from the zombie-based gameplay and pits players, at some point, against a Cosmic Silverback (a strong ape). Other achievements related to a location known as Rebirth Island might explain what that involves, since simian slaughter factors into the achievement "I Hate Monkeys."
While Call of Duty fans may already know about the game's international destinations, including Vietnam and Russia, it appears we'll also be visiting Hong Kong. Black Ops will also send players to a POW compound and the Pentagon.
It appears that only one achievement may be related to Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer. To unlock "Gamblin' Fool," players will have to take part in the game's new Wager Modes.

Fighting cosmic silverback apes? Maybe it's a zombie mode and the apes replace hell hounds, or maybe it's a new version of Spec Ops. Treyarch love giving time to speculate
There's also a theory on the Black Ops Forums

During the cold war, the Russians did experiments fusing an ape and a human (essiantly trying to create an army of Hulk Hogan like proportions)
As anything else these guys came up with, it failed....
OR DID IT?
What I'm saying is that you and some of your buddies face off against an army of monkey people.
Seems logical enough, can't it?
Now the way Dead goes into the title is that maybe these guys were forgotten about, or left for DEAD.
I typed Dead Ops into google and there's a PDF that describes Dead Ops as Dead Black Ops soldiers so it's also possible that it may be the new name for Zombie Mode and the ''Zombie Mode'' section is actually for the W@W zombies. It's plausible

There is also an article saying it is zombie missions. Imagine that, a CO OP version of Spec Ops, but with zombies.

The first Dead Ops trophy reads as follows: ‘I hate Monkeys’ – Kill 7 monkeys in under 10 seconds in the Rebirth labs’. Players of World at War will remember the monkey bombs from Der Riese, and it looks like they have some connection to Black Ops as well.
As for the ‘Rebirth Labs’, well that is explained in the next Dead Ops Achievement: ‘No Leaks’ – Make it through the NOVA 6 gas without dying on Rebirth Island’. This Rebirth Labs is obviously located on Rebirth Island, and if you have to make it through the ‘NOVA 6′ gas, then it is definitely to do with zombies, since GKNOVA6.com is Treyarch’s viral marketing website for the spin-off mode.
The next two achievement unlocks give away the biggest hint that ‘

ead Ops’ will be standalone Zombie Missions in the game. ‘Insert Coin’ -’Access the terminal and battle the forces of the Cosmic Silverback in Dead Ops Arcade’. That doesn’t look like a standard Zombie survival game to me, and Cosmic Silverback suggests that there even might be a ‘boss’ in the Dead Ops missions – do you have any ideas on this?
Although it could just be a mini arcade game through the story, y'know like an arcade box? Thats probably the most plausable answer but we will have to wait and see
I'll add more as it comes
