We must admit, we've been guilty of using party chat to shout, "he's behind you!" when playing with friends during online multiplayer, so restrictions to Call of Duty: Black Ops' party chat for certain multiplayer modes might actually be a good idea. And as such, Black Ops' online director Dan Bunting has told Videogamer that some of the game's modes will still have party chat restrictions where necessary to avoid such exploits.

"We have that same restriction in certain playlists where they can use party chat to exploit the game mode. For example, Search and Destroy. Search and Destroy is one of those cases where it's really critical that you don't share information with anybody on the other team because it's a very tactical, hardcore game mode."

In Modern Warfare 2 however, party chat was also restricted in Team Deathmatch, where there's no particular reason why that should be. Not so in Black Ops. "We've taken it out of any game mode where it doesn't make sense to have it." That means you'll be able to chatter away to your heart's content via party chat in Black Ops' Team Deathmatch mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to release on November 9th, 2010.

Meh ps3 dont gots no partay chat anyways.

So what other modes will have Game chat defult? S+D is a must, mabye somthing like demolition (If they have it) but I cant think of any other Game modes that'd call for hardcore tactics.

Search & Destroy is pretty much the only one that shouldn't allow party chat.

i never did get the MW2 TDM party chat block???
