With the price wars of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops release kicking in to top gear today as HMV announced it was to offer the title for just £7.99, the battle of the brands is following suit with Microsoft claiming dominance of the much anticipated game.

Xbox’s Director of Entertainment and Marketing, Stephen McGill, whilst talking with MCV, boldly proclaimed that the Xbox 360 is the best console to play Call of Duty: Black Ops and “everyone knows” it.

"Obviously everyone knows the best place to play Black Ops is on Xbox 360. But there are so many great games still to come out. For Q4 there hasn't been a better line-up for years." Probed McGill.

The unprompted attack on rivals Sony comes ahead of a big week for Xbox which, as well as targeting the largest game release of the year in Co Black Ops, will see the UK arrival of its well hyped motion gaming peripheral, Kinect. "With Kinect and Call of Duty it's an incredible week for retail; they are going to be so busy," said the Xbox head.

Many retailers are expected to open doors at midnight twice next week with large crowds of eager gamers and Christmas shoppers keen to get their hands on the latest addition to the Call of Duty franchise and one of the year’s must have festive gifts.

Supermarket chain Asda is one such retail giant that will be inviting gamers to queue for middle of the night store openings with more than 200 branches expected to invite gamers in for Black Ops and Kinect.

its not gonna be better on the xbox, its the same game, weapons, maps, etc... the only thing is the dlc comes out on 360 b4 ps3

100% False, JD confirmed in that 30 minutes he answered questions that the ps3 had a separate team to work on it and will NOT be a ported version of the shitbox360 iso.

I know someone else just told me something along the same lines of what you just said. But that is also why I said chances are.. Because I wasn't certain if they ported or not and I did not want anyone taking my word to heart. but thanks for correcting me.

Same game, however more users play xbox so it'll be more competitive in my opinion.

I was playing mw2 on it the other day, and no one has a mic apart from a maybe 1 kid who speaks to him self. Makes the game boring in my opinion.

But on xbox EVERYONE has a mic and makes the game enjoyable, and have a good laugh on.

Not saying ps3 is crap but, Xbox makes a game Fun.

It doesn't which system you have Black Ops for. It will be the same except for the month late DLC on PS3, and there isn't an ability to sign into two PSN accounts at the same time for split screen. That's it. This just turned into a console war though, and I'm closing this before it continues into a huge argument. CLOSED.
