Okay, so I just unlocked the L96a1 sniper rifle (yeah... I'm a slow leveler, so what :p ), and I've gotten extremely good gameplay that I'm hoping to render and upload soon.... if the theater mode ever wants to work /facepalm

Even though I've never been amazing at quickscoping, I've done pretty well, even better than SoH Pro guys on MW2 when I was Marathon sniping.

Like the rumor speculates, Treyarch almost definitely lessened the sway on the sniper (yay! they listened to the community and made a compromise Smile ). I keep getting sick shots, and I don't even need to wait long at all for the bullet to actually shoot where you're pointing.

With the generous damage multipliers, it's actually pretty rare to get a hitmarker, since you need to either hit their forearms (the biceps have 1.5 damage!) or their legs. Shooting through walls is almost guaranteed a hitmarker though.


Class Set-up:

L96a1 Sniper Rifle
Attachment: Extended Mags (I'll explain why)
Camo: Undecided :\
Secondary: Dual Wield Pythons (still experimenting with the pistol setups)
Lethal: Frag
Special (or whatever they're called): Concussion
Equipment: N/A (if you use it, it's more of a distraction, really)

Perk 1: Scavenger Pro
Perk 2: Hardened Pro
Perk 3: Marathon (Pro soon maybe?) <--- not really sure what to put... maybe tactical mask and get that pro?
- - - - - Perk 3 Alternate: Tactical Mask?


Tactics:

Zoom in where you see an enemy,
Get your crosshairs on him,
Fire!
--- That's right! even if you get the guy on your crosshairs fast, the settling has already occurred!

What NOT to do:
Quickscope MW2 style
--- AKA: "Blankscoping" or "shooting before you can even see the crosshairs"


Why Do You Use This?

1. Extended Mags
--- A: While a lot of you may yell at me to use the Variable Zoom Scope, my reply is that it doesn't help. The highest zoom in level on the scope is the same as the normal scope. The only thing that the VZM does is let you zoom out. The amount of sway is unchanged whether you use the VZM or the normal scope. Also, I use extended mags because this lets me fire more shots without reloading, and also lets me choose a different perk 2 than sleight of hand.

2. Scavenger Pro
--- A: Okay, I admit that all the other perks from slot 1 are probably better... but I feel that if my perk doesn't really "enhance" my character in any way (faster moving, no red dot on radar), then I will be more likely to play "smart", because I don't have any advantage. Also, with Scavenger Pro, I can resupply my grenades and concussions. My secondary also gets the benefit of more available ammo, meaning if I get overwhelmed by enemies, I can always be sure I have enough ammo.

3. Hardened Pro
--- A: Why not Sleight of Hand or Steady Aim? While faster reloads are always a huge plus, I've always LOVED using Deep Impact / FMJ ... so why not use Hardened? lol. It really helps in getting one shot kills through thin metal, since the damage of snipers barely make it past 100 health (70 damage x 1.5 damage multiplier = 105 damage) With Hardened I can shoot through a thin wall, and still maybe make it 100+ damage. Steady Aim... while very helpful for snipers... isn't really my thing. I don't use Steady Aim for CoD4, MW2, or for BO, since it just seems "too easy" I guess. Plus if I get a no-scope with steady aim... it's like "that was okay...". In MW2, I actually despised Steady Aim so much that if some-one no-scopes me with SA equipped, I don't even see it as a no-scope. The bullet has such a high chance of hitting me when you have SA that it's not even "amazing".

4. Marathon (and not even PRO??)
--- A: Okay okay Not Happy or Sad ..... I need advice on this perk, alright? I'm using Tactical Mask atm, so I really don't know what to use! save me please!



Final Notes:
Can anyone help me with rendering clips in theater mode (PS3)? While we all know why the audio is horrible, I was wondering if anyone could tell me at approximately what times are the best for rendering? I know that the less people online the better... so at what times are the "down times"? With 600,000 people online, the audio is extremely bad, so I need to cancel the render :(

Well... in order to render they need to be under 30 seconds.

I'm talking about "Render Clip" so that you can upload to Youtube Smile

Nice clips... but a few of those weren't really quick scopes.

Yeah.. but that's generally the "safe" speed to snipe. Sure you can go fast, but then it turns out to actually be a no-scope sometimes, so you don't always hit :(
