(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guy thanks to [Op4] ipodtouch44, i go the black ops WAW maps and been trying to get the pkg file on my systems. Then later finding out you need it jailbroken.

But ive been dabbling with ps3 proxy server and decided to replace the black ops patch(25MB) to try and make it patch but remove what it actually patched, like zombie glitches. But instead i thought i'd try to replace it with the maps (1079MB) and its downloading!!! Currently at 15%!!

Im on ps3. slim 120GB retail.

if it doesn't work after this, well i hope this info will help someone find another use for it.

ahh, right so it does need to be jailbroken then? thanks for stopping me from wasting more time ha ha.

yeh i see now, when installing it reverts back to the original patch to install then says error. shame it downloaded successfully.

any idea what that is, its the next address after the dowload. is this what tells its what it should be installing?

Looks like only the ps3 can read that page.

Yes that is the address you should try and block it's the update address is what it looks like

yeah, i did some research and noticed when you point to the address and replace it with the same address it bypasses it but you cant connect to the psn.

I tried bypassing the address as i was downloading it but it obviously refers to it first to even know that it needs a new update. I just want to know what it transmits from that address, i also know that every game uses that address to query for updates.

So it must be accessing a database of updates which returns what it is and how large it is. My theory is to use packet injection or some type of network software to tell it not to worry about the size/header file of the .PKG and to carry on installing.

I have noticed a few people have attempted hacks with cod 4 with this address but no one actually states what it does or how to manipulate it, apart from the bypassing of the address itself.

The only other way i can think of getting it on the system is through decrypting the whole hard drive. But i don't have the hard ware to test that theory.

All i i am asking from the community is some constructive thought.

these are the log files from ps3 proxy, it calls that update address, then checks your up to date with the firmware (as it signs to back in then goes to the download location which i replaced with something else. it downloads successfully then when it goes to install it says error has occurred as it expects the patch
