This meaning if you where going 80 k.d every game/ un-realistic scores it would automatically set off an alarm, not literually but the system would tally your name down. I guess if your name was tally'd repeatedly you'd get banned (just like the reporting system).
It's just a theory, but Treyarch said they had a detectable system.

I have a 179 killstreak and most of the time i get a 100+ K/D ratio every game and I am not banned/reset

I got like 157 killstreak and i didnt get reset? I think it just comes down to if you got good luck or bad luck lol
