(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I know alot of people here are like f**k you treyarc for encrypting the files (.ff files) in the patch, but have any of you thought that it may just be sony signing them the same way they do with .self's and .eboot's.

Soon graf will release either a payload or info on how to decrypt the game self's and eboot's which will make it possible to create our own debug versions of retail patches, maybe with a little modification or even with none, the same application will decrypt the .ff's for us...

p.s if im talking aload of sh*t feel free to tell me lol.

its not that im not self confident, its that there is no way of testing it until the method is released by graf.

But i do think im on the right track, i havnt had a proper look at the files on the disc but there seems to be no files on there for decrypting the game and patch content, which i would assume means the ps3 itself is doing it using sony's code.

Fun fact Sony won't encrypt Treyarch's files like that. /facepalm

If they did, wouldn't the fast files for MW2 been encrypted?? But all the encryption is a extremely hard algorithm to crack. But of course it doesn't help the fact that we don't really know what hashes they use for what key.

But from what I have discovered is the public key is 16 bytes/ 128 bits :shh: and uses a SHA-1 hash.

No. Everything your seeing is for demonware, has nothing to do with black ops.

Still point is that Sony doesn't encrypt Treyarch's fastfiles.

Sony just encrypts the .self files since they are executable files.

No, its deffinatly Treyarch.. If it was sony encrypting them the same way as there own self files, then the xbox community would of have a modded patch on the games release date.

Here's another theory, have you ever tried testing a patch file on the pc version? well your answer is, the file will be currupted.. each console have there own key, which treyarch have embedded inside each file.

if each console has its own different key, then lets see who cracks it first Winky Winky

Md5decrypter.co.uk has a SHA-1 Hash Decrypter if you want to use it.

I wonder if the .SELF files or eboot.bin files could tell the game how to decrypt and encrypt the Fastfiles, seems plausible?
