If the player decodes the NATO codenames (X-ray, Sierra etc.) into their first letters, and changing the serial numbers into letters (A-1, B-2) in the beginning of each level, and removing all the Xs, the player will get this message, "Reznov is dead, or is he dead, there was no body, Is he who he says he is?
Infomation taken out of the Terminal is in italics.
WARNING: SPOILERS
WARNING: VERY MUCH TEXT! PEOPLE WHO ARE SCARED BY THIS BEWARE!
(If you really don't want to read all of it, the bold parts sum up the important stuff)
As we all know, the campaign makes it seem as if Reznov was first unheard of, then alive, then dead, and from the new decoded message, it seems very possible that he could be alive.
One of the more unrelated ones I found may excite a few of you in Mason's directory. Notex2.txt
Mr. Mason --
Woods is alive and remains the sole remaining American guest at the Hanoi Hilton.
Thought you should know.

But, now onto the part you entered this topic for.
I noticed a few strange messages in Hudson's email, all by someone of the name John Trent. Here are the messages:
(#1)Tue Nov 19, 1963
From: Trent, John
Subject: Everything you know is wrong.
You don't me, but I know Alex Mason. You will learn to trust me. Everything changes on Friday.
(#2)Tue Nov 21, 1963 (I believe the game accidentally put Tuesday rather than Thursday)
From: Trent, John
Subject: Now you understand
It was by the hand of Nikita Dragovich. This is just the beginning. They are everywhere.
Start at Vorkuta. Two escaped the breakout. You know one of them. The other one just died.
(#3)Mon Nov 25, 1963
From: Trent, John
Subject: A single step
Her name is Evelyn Cross. The photo is for your eyes only. This will be my last letter for quite some time. When the time comes, you will know what to do.
(#4)Tue Feb 27, 1968 From: Trent, John Subject: You have done well
Please tell Mason one last thing. This time it's freedom for both of us.
Don't know what to make of it? Here, let me sort of decode/note some of the things I noticed...
(#1) The subject may suggest that everything Hudson believes about Mason is wrong, and that he is actually still himself. We really know nothing about this John Trent at the moment besides the fact that he knew Mason but not Hudson. He also knew that there something (JFK's assassination) was going to occur.
(#2) The person puts the blame on Dragovich, and suggests that the sleeper agents are everywhere. The second part indicates that Reznov made it out of Vorkuda alive, but was recently killed (or thought to be killed).
(#3) I actually had a tough time with this one, but I realized something If you look through JFK's mail you will fins that it is strongly hinted that Evelyn Cross is the person reading the numbers, explaining the numbers at the beginning of the message.
(#4) Possibly the one that convinced me it was in fact Reznov. "This time it's freedom for both of us." Who else would understand the meaning of this besides Mason and Reznov? This alone was enough to convince me. Also this was sent right after the last level, so the title seems to indicate that Hudson was asked by John(Reznov) to help Mason kill Dragovich.

It's not confusing at all. All this implies is that maybe Reznov was never killed when he was caught after Mason escaped like everyone taught. We know that the Reznov we see after the escape was simply all in Mason's head but maybe, just maybe, Reznov is out there somewhere. Plus the final intel hints that we will play after about 10 years (can't remember exactly) in Africa where Mason, Hudson and weaver are hiding from the government.
