To enable NAT open for Quest users, all you need is a PPPoE username and password. This can be obtained by calling Quest. After that, set up a custom connection using a PPPoE username instead of an Automatic I.P. Address. There is no need to mess around with DMZ, Port Forwarding, or Firewall settings on your PC. I played with a party of Open NAT users and we had no problems at all. No disconnections, no lag.
Also, let's see if we can start posting strategies that will help us become better. Post your tips. Here are mine:
1. Claymores can take out RC-XDs
2. There is a glitch to spot a Ghost Player when a UAV is up. Typically when a UAV is up and there isn't someone who has Ghost on near you, your player will say something like "Enemy spotted!". This works through walls too. Your player doesn't have to physically see the enemy. This goes for people using Ghost also, I don't think it was meant to work for Ghost players like this though.
3. You can hear the enemy team's shout-outs, for example when they throw down a claymore, they'll say something like "Claymore Out", be cautious.
4. Certain SMGs have an advantage where if you put Rapid Fire on, hitmarkers will count as 2 bullets instead of 1. This only works when firing on Full Auto and not burst firing. Watch your Ammo, it'll decrease by 2 bullets everytime instead of 1.
5. At the start of the game, if you find yourself starting after the "Game starting in 18..17..16" countdown, you most likely have the worst connection in the lobby. It's easier to just leave because you will almost always lose firefights against someone else. Try to flank enemies or play it safer if you don't want a loss by leaving.
6. The M16 has an advantage with the Reflex sight giving it the most accuracy of any weapon in the game, including the G11. This only works for the M16. Also, when using the M16, shoot one burst into an enemy, shooting random bursts after that will lag the bullets before it out unless you are the host.
Also, I'm looking for more people to play TDM with who have an Open NAT, please add me if you fit the criteria.
