I am a Game Developer
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey, you know how you have to install a debug eboot to make Black Ops Work on 3.41, I was just wondering, why? Because if I am ever going to try and mod retail, then I kinda want to know..

Because it's impossible to mod retail, then encrypt it back SCE signed!

Not to bump/resurrect a dead old thread, but I need to. I've seen 6 threads about the debug versions of Black Ops and don't know exactly why I would need them since they all just ask for links except this thread.

What am I able to modify easily? EBOOT, fastfiles, saves, selfs, gsc, or other stuff? This may sound like a very dumb question, but would I be able to use XBox360 fastfiles for Black Ops? What exactly?

oh wow old thread.

Debug eboots lets you mess around with default values.
You can't use retail updates because they are DRM signed. Decryption keys aren't going to be released (as i see) anytime soon, for obvious reasons. (piracy)

There is some tutorials on how to edit the update just search. and to actually answer youre question you need debug updates because that is the only thing (public) to be able to edit anything.
Xbox patches won't work on PS3 because they use a different key; different DXT format; different SFX; and FX format. thus making it impossible to use on PS3.

as for saves, it will be no different than editing the self.

if everything i just wrote isn't clear, im like half awake so bare with me :|
