Common WTF glitches explained!

This is a guide to explain why Certain glitches occur. This should answer some of the questions that are commonly asked.

This knowledge I have gained from the developers of treyarch themselves as well as knowledge I have gain through going to school for game design.

[multipage=Chrome Glitch/GraphicsGlitch]
Chrome Glitch/GraphicsGlitch

Example Question Posted on this forums:
I was playing TDM on Radiation the other day, and right when I got into the game, everything was blue and shiny. At first I thought this was a modded lobby, but if it was, This site would be on the case FO SHOW. I started walking around looking at it (it was only the building sides, not the sky, guns, or ground) and then it just started fading away. Pretty weird huh? NOTE: I have not checked Theatre mode for any video proof because the match was shutdown due to host connection which makes the game not save there.

The explanation:
this is cause by the game thinking you ahve a better connection that you do and sometimes do to an overheated graphics card in your console.

The game loads up and do to lag that the game does not recognize you load in just fine. This graphics error occurs due to one main source. Ever notice when the game is counting down that is starts fuzzy and is black and white then slowly becomes clear and then adds color to the point where the colors are loaded just as the game starts. This is not just for looks but is also a needed feature. This allows the game to load the colors properly.

Guess what happens when you it does load the colors properly. Can you guess? Thats right the glitch the you experienced occurs.

Like you said it slowly faded back to normal read my above statement cause it loads in slowly at the beginning of the game by fading in the colors.

[multipage= Dog barriers]
Dog Barriers

Example Posted on this forum:
[ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNn2XabFgIs]YouTube - Black Ops Dog Barriers - Part 1 (Multi-player)[/ame]

The explanation:
these are used a collision to inform the the ai that the dogs have that you are about to leave the map. Although I dont know much, I do go to school for game design. The only reason the dogs stop and growl is due to the fact that they are about to kill you. You are there target and the collision is the only thing stopping them. These barriers are put in place for maximum efficiency. They are there to prevent the dogs from glitching out and running into that corner for ever.

These collisions are everywhere on every map just some are bigger than others and thus these barriers are formed. without these areas of collisions the dogs would just clip through everything. and be even more annoying than they already are.

[multipage=RC-XD Falling/Clipping Through Objects]
RC-XD Falling/Clipping Through Objects

Example Posted on this forum:
[ame=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-RIbuweybc]YouTube - Call of Duty Black Ops RC-XD Glitch?[/ame]

The explanation:
This occurs 90% of the time when you have a laggy connection and you call the rc-xd from say on top of a ledge or car due to lag it does not recognize the fact that you are on something and attempts to put it on the ground resulting in it being under the map.

In laggy situations the game to improve connections removes unnecessary attributes first this being one of them. What keeps the RC in the map is a code/script called monster clipping.

Monster clipping in this game is used for RC-XD's rockets grenades dogs tomahawks and any other thrown or player controlled object, to make them recognize that an object is there. and either collide avoid or detonate on contact.

When there is lag the first thing the game removes is the scoreboard loading followed by monster clipping then hitbox detection followed by player movement. If all these are removed/reduced the next thing to be removed to compensate for lag is the host hense host migration and then after that its you.

[multipage=Head Glitching]
Head Glitching

The Example
[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRdsPXu2bVk[/ame]

Skip to 2:38 to see example

The explanation:
This is a very simple glitch as to why it works. Contrary to popular belief everything that your character does via shooting and throwing objects whatever comes out of your characters face. A good example of this is in MW2, yes I know this is black ops but an example is an example, anyways in MW2 place a tac insert and as soon as you finish throw a stun grenade. Now on the other end your character does not move and the stun grenade will just manifest out of you mouth.

Why is this useful? Well on your screen where ever your gun is actually to everyone else is your face. That being said the head glitch is used by getting behind something to where you gun barely has clearance. This results in the head glitch. On your end as stated before you can clearly see over the wall. But on the enemies side the tip of your head is barely visible over the object giving you a very distinct advantage.
