(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok so I've already read the post by TairyHesticles and seems not to be working. Here is what I have done.

1. Installed the 1.02 retail update
2. Opened up FTP server
3. Located the PARAM.SFO and edited it with the latest PS3SFOEdit to saying 3.40000 instead of 3.50000. Then I saved it and put it back in on my ps3.
4. Then I replaced the EBOOT file with the one posted on TairyHesticles thread.
5. Restarted my PS3, loaded up Black Ops, and it still tells me to update to a later firmware

If I'm missing any step please let me know. Thank you.
By the way, my disc region is BLUS30591.

There are multiple things you could have done wrong.

1) Did edit the Param.sfo in "GAMEZ"
2) Started with the actual BO disc
3) Forgot to "Memory Patch" a non BO disc.

Those are the three main things. And you don't need an update file to run Black Ops... I run with no 1.XX game data/patch.

But your probably doing two things you never backed up Black Ops into a newer Open Manager nor changed out the files for that backup in the "GAMEZ" folder. And your obviously memory patching another disc like MW2 or Cod4.

Thank you so much. So if I put Open Manager v3 on my PS3 and Backup Black Ops on it, all I have to do is edit the PARAM.STFO in the backup of Black Ops. Correct?

Yea, and of course change out the Eboot.bin file with the one you downloaded. Same goes it you want any 1.XX patch file on it.

You have to play the backup, dont use a patch, just place the eboot in the gamez folder. Then edit the param. Then check if it is edited after. Because usually you download the param into a temp folder when you open it. So save it, edit it, then place it back in.

You go to back up manager. Click on your game. it will bring you back to the xmb. Insert a disk, and then click the disk.
