Post: Lagswitching on Black Ops

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Before we start, This method will only work on Black Ops, not on any other Cod game.

First off you need to have a router in order for this to work.

Download Cain and Abel by oxid at You must login or register to view this content.

Install the software and install the packet drivers if you don't already have them.

Then go to Zonealarm.com and go to free downloads, select any version of ZA( ZoneAlarm Pro recommended for older computers).

Now once both softwares are installed, restart your computer.

Open up both softwares and on Cain and Abel you'll see a tab called "Sniffer". Click that and then right above the tab will be a green chip icon. Click that and 2 icons to the right will be a blue cross. Click the blue cross and select start. What this will do is you'll get every ip address that is connected to YOUR router. You should get your router ip and your ps3/xbox ip + any other devices linked. Then all the way on the bottom left corner, select the 2nd tab called "APR". Once you click that 2 boxes will appear. Click the top box and then click the blue cross again. Now another popup will come out and on the left side click your router ip. It should be something like 192.168.1.1. Then on the right side click your ps3 ip and then go on Black Ops. Find a match and when it says "Potential matches found etc..." go back on Cain and go back up to where the green chip is and next to it should be a nuke button. Click that and you'll start to recieve the Black Ops server ips. Also this will guarantee you'll be the host of the next game you'll play in. Once you get into a lobby make sure the nuke button is still active, every player in the lobby will have their ip showing up on Cain. Make sure and count there are ATLEAST 11 ips. If not exit Cain and restart. Now your done with the cain part.

Now go back to ZoneAlarm and click firewalls. Underneath will be 2 options, Zones and Advanced. Click Zones and select "Add" on the bottom right corner.Select "Add Ip Address". Go back on Cain and on the 2nd box will be a column where it says "Packets ->" and "Packets <-". Look for the one with the most packets going in and out and add that single ip address on ZoneAlarm to the trusted zone. Then click apply and go back to "Main". There will be 2 sliders, one saying "Internet" and another saying "Trusted". Whenever you see someone running, just move the internet slider to high and on your screen you'll see them freeze. Also while your internet slider is on high you can't take any damage and EVERYONE will be frozen. Easy way to get headshots/killstreaks etc.

Everytime you use the sliders make sure you wait a couple seconds before reactivating your lag. Doing this consecutively might make you disconnect. The maximum amount of time you can recieve doing this is 11 seconds. If you go any longer then the lag will break and you won't be able to use it again until the next game starts.

I love how people add rep to other users without even testing - let alone reading their guide...

LOL the guy above me says it doesn't work yet you gave the guy rep for writing a non-working tutorial...

Are you adding the Black Ops server ip? Sometimes the PSN ips that start with 198 will show up instead, just skip to the 2nd or 3rd one. If you have the right setup and your not disconnecting but people don't freeze, just give your ps3 a static ip/dmz. And do port forwarding to open all your router ports to Black Ops. This will make them freeze 100%. If none of this works then there may be a problem with the model of your router and it's not allowing it to work.

I never said I do it all the time, I'm just pointing this out to those people that may be interested in trying it out for once.

I'm adding the IP which has the most -> and <- like you said, I don't add the 198's and my PS3 already has a static IP and is in DMZ and what are the router ports for Black Ops? I don't understand why it's not working because I'm able to use this on other games :/

Go to PortForward.com and select router lists. Just pick which router you have and then for the online games scroll down to Black Ops.
