There are many nooks in the shadows where you can wait for someone to run by without even noticing you. It's a great map for what I call Temporary Camping or Temp Camp. I am coining that term here and now. Temp Cap is where you stay in one spot, then move to another and stay there a while, only do the same thing again. A great spot on Hanoi is the dinning room. I have circled it below in red and the pop-out shows the detail.

To start off, you will want to use Flak Jacket, Ghost, and Slight of Hand. Slight of hand will help you reload much faster if you are attacking multiple enemies. This is helpful because there is no play to hide once you are in the room. Ghost will keep you hidden from the enemy spy plane and flak jacket will protect you from the grenades and launchers coming through the doors and windows.

When you first get into the room, place a claymore down where I have the yellow dot. If you are in there with someone else, have them play a claymore near the balcony entrance. If I am there alone, I prefer to put the claymore down near the stair entrance because I can't see it, so even if someone blows it up without dying, I will have time to prepare as they move down the small hallway. Second, if you place it behind the door, it will be hard to see and to shoot. The enemy may use a grenade, but then they've wasted it. Just make sure you place the claymore not facing the door.

Next, get behind the small table where I have the blue dot, next to the window. Flak Jacket will come in handy because other players will try to throw grenades. Stickys are a problem, but the hand grenades will bounce off far from you. The smart players will try to rocket you, so you will need Flak Jacket. I like to lookout towards the balcony entrance. You can always see someone coming up. I usually don't wait for them to get into the room to kill them. I occasionally look out the window, if you have a secondary weapon, use the RPG, because you get two chances to take out enemies in the door and window across the way from your window. Since I usually use a silenced SPAS, this really help out.

This brings me to my second point, used a silenced weapon. It really help out because nearby enemies will not be able to see your shots on the map. You will eventually get killed, but you will at least get a 3-1 ratio every time your in the room. It's awesome when you kill the same person coming after you time after time after time. They just don't get it, and it's funny to see how stupid other players really are.

Enjoy and let me know how it turns out for you.

on topic - you could always use a motion sensor, more reliable then a claymore for a longer period of time.
